Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is a privately managed conservation area situated between Nairobi and Mombasa in Taita-Taveta County, Kenya. Spanning about 28,000 acres, the sanctuary forms part of a vital wildlife corridor adjacent to Tsavo West National Park, allowing free movement of animals between protected areas. Its landscape is characterized by rolling hills, open plains, acacia woodlands, and seasonal waterholes that attract wildlife year-round.
The sanctuary supports a rich variety of wildlife, including African elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, and numerous antelope species. It is also recognized as an Important Bird Area, hosting over 300 bird species, making it popular among birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.
